Injury-decimated UFC 137 card receives another blow

An injury to former Ultimate Fighter contest Brad Tavares has forced him to withdraw from next week’s UFC 137 event in Las Vegas.

His scheduled opponent, Dustin Jacoby, will now face newcomer Clifford Starks. That fight has been relegated to the Facebook-aired preliminary card, while a bantamweight bout between Scott Jorgensen and Jeff Curran will move up to the pay per view broadcast.

The details of the injury to Tavares were not disclosed.

Curran will be making his return to the UFC for the first time since 2004 at UFC 46. He competed briefly in the WEC before being released after losing four consecutive fights.

Jorgensen has not competed since June, when he knocked out Ken Stone at the Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale in Las Vegas.
