Fans in the Toronto area invited to attended Wednesday’s event
The UFC 140 promotional campaign kicks off tomorrow at the Air Canada Centre (ACC) in Toronto.
After mixed martial arts was finally legalized in the province of Ontario in August 2009, the UFC brought the biggest show in the company’s history to the Rogers Centre in April.
More than 55,000 people packed the home of the Toronto Blue Jays for UFC 129 and witnessed a pair of UFC title fights headline the province’s inaugural event.
Just eight months later, the UFC is ready to return.
UFC 140 takes place Saturday, December 10 and features a light heavyweight title bout between champion Jon Jones and challenger Lyoto Machida in the main event.
Tomorrow afternoon, Jones and Machida will be joined by UFC President Dana White and UFC Canada Director of Operations Tom Wright at a press conference at the ACC to formally begin the promotion of the event.
The press conference is open to the public, with doors opening at noon for the 1pm ET event, and will stream live on UFC.com.
In addition to the press conference, Jones and Machida will move next door to the Real Sports Apparel outlet for an autograph signing from 5-6pm ET.
The UFC 140 main card also features former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir, former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz, The Nogueira Brothers, and Canadian stars Mark Hominick and Rory MacDonald.
