Koscheck tweets bout agreement for Condit fight
A welterweight contender bout between Josh Koscheck and Carlos Condit is now official for UFC 143.
The event takes place Super Bowl weekend, February 4 in Las Vegas. It’s headlined by a highly anticipated welterweight title fight between Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz.
Koscheck tweeted the news on Sunday night with a photo of his bout agreement. http://img.ly/aFUz
Condit’s road to the UFC title has been full of twists and turns. Originally scheduled to face B.J. Penn at UFC 137, Condit was instead slotted to face St-Pierre after Diaz missed multiple press engagements. St-Pierre was injured and the fight was canceled to be rescheduled at a later date, but a passionate post-fight interview by Diaz angered St-Pierre so greatly that he asked Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta to face Diaz instead of Condit.
Koscheck made his return to the cage after 9 months on the shelf in beating Matt Hughes via first-round TKO in September.
