Controversial main event ruled a no-contest
Polish heavyweight Mariusz Pudzianowski’s controversial decision win over James Thompson from Saturday’s KSW 17 main event has been changed to a no-contest.
KSW officials released the news on Monday morning, citing a mistake by one of the judges.
The two-round fight was clearly split at 1-1, with each of the fighters taking one round. With the score even after two rounds, it should have gone into an overtime round, but Pudzianowski was announced as the winner. An angry Thompson took the microphone after the decision was announced and berated the company.
“Due to the fact that the overtime round did not happen, KSW owners along with KSW officials have decided to erase this fight from fighters’ records and declare the sixth bout at KSW 17 a no-contest,” KSW officials said.
