Alexander ticketed for misdemeanor child abuse

Former UFC light heavyweight knockout phenom Houston Alexander was ticketed late last month for abuse.

According to KMTV Omaha, Alexander caught his son in the act of “having explicit sexual contact on Facebook with some unknown females.” Enraged when his son lied to him about the matter, Alexander ordered him to box, leaving the 16-year-old with minor injuries, including a bloody nose and pain to his right side.

After the authorities were called, Alexander explained the situation and was ticketed for misdemeanor child abuse.

The situation did not exactly ignite the MMA internet debate of the year, but nevertheless caused controversial discussion about the decision of Alexander to attempt to teach his son a lesson through such a method.

The incident comes almost three months after Alexander’s disappointing knockout loss to Steve Bosse in Montreal. The loss snapped a four-fight winning streak, derailing the striker’s hope for a run back to the UFC.
