UFC’s official pre-show starts at special time Saturday
UFC 144 Fight Day Live comes at you on Saturday at a special start time of 5:30 p.m. Eastern, live from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, site of the UFC’s first event in the “Land of the Rising Sun” since December 2000.
The UFC’s only official pre-fight show will lead into Saturday’s fight card, which airs on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. Eastern. Prior to the seven-fight, four-hour main card, four preliminary card fights can be seen on FX at 8 p.m., and an additional undercard bout will stream at the UFC’s Facebook page at 7:30 p.m.
UFC 144 features a main event lightweight title fight between champion Frankie Edgar and top contender Ben Henderson, the former WEC lightweight titleholder. The co-main event is a light heavyweight bout between former champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Ryan Bader.
UFC Fight Day Live is hosted by Dave Farra and Megan Olivi, and this week they’ll be joined on the panel by journalists John Morgan (MMA Junkie), “Showdown” Joe Ferraro (Canada’s SportsNet) and Matt Brown (HeavyMMA). In addition, the show will feature interviews with welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and interim welterweight champ Carlos Condit, plus a look inside Jake Shields’ training camp for his main card fight against Yoshihiro Akiyama.
So make sure to check in with HeavyMMA on Saturday night before the UFC 144 fighters start slinging leather for Fight Day Live.
