Welterweights meet at UFC on FX 4 on June 22
A welterweight tilt between Matt Riddle and Luis Ramos is set for UFC on FX: Maynard vs. Guida in Atlantic City, N.J., on June 22.
The UFC confirmed the booking earlier this week, saying verbal agreements are in place for the bout.
Riddle, who has spent the entirety of his nine-fight career in the UFC, picked up a controversial, yet much-needed, split-decision victory over Henry Martinez at UFC 143 last month. The victory snapped a two-fight skid and moved Riddle’s professional record to 6-3.
Unlike Riddle, Ramos has little experience as an employee of Zuffa. He debuted at UFC 134 in Brazil last August and was matched up against top prospect Erick Silva, who earned a vicious technical knockout victory in front of his home crowd. At 19-7, Ramos now looks to get back on the winning track and to earn his first victory under the UFC banner.
UFC on FX 4 will be the UFC’s first show in Atlantic City since UFC 53 in June 2005. The event will be the UFC’s seventh in Atlantic City, a city known for hosting major boxing events. The first three took place at the Trump Taj Mahal, followed by three at the Boardwalk Hall.
