Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller Says He’ll Retire if He Loses to C.B. Dollaway

Jason "Mayhem" Miller

Middleweight meets TUF 7 finalist at UFC 146

UFC middleweight and popular MMA personality Jason “Mayhem” Miller almost watched his second run in the Ultimate Fighting Championship end after only one fight when president Dana White made it known that he was not sure if Miller, who was dominated by Michael Bisping last December, would be kept on the promotion’s roster.

Now Miller’s second fight since his return to the UFC may be his last fight in any promotion – at least according to Miller.

The outspoken 185-pound grappling ace meets C.B. Dollaway at UFC 146 on May 26, and he recently said that a loss to “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 7 finalist would trigger his retirement.

“I’m on my own chopping block. If I lose to him, I’m quitting,” Miller said on a recent episode of “MMA Uncensored Live” on Spike TV. “In the UFC, there’s no easy fight. He doesn’t deserve to be in there with me, and I’ll prove it. I’ll prove it under a round, because, we see, I tend to get tired in the second round. We’re both in a similar spot in our career, I guess. We’re both on the chopping block.”

Miller’s ultimatum may appear drastic, but combined with his last loss, a loss to Dollaway quite possibly could lead to his release. Still, Miller has lost just one fight in the last two years – though during that span he has fought only three times. In November 2009, he fought Jake Shields for the Strikeforce interim middleweight title, nearly submitting his opponent. But “Mayhem” lost by unanimous decision and would go on to fight just once more under the Strikeforce banner.

Now he will fight in the UFC for just the third time in his career. Dollaway is on a two-fight losing streak, meaning, like Miller, he may need a victory to keep his UFC career alive.
