Jones’ sentencing date postponed
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was set to appear before a Binghamton City Court judge today in New York, but his sentencing for a guilty plea of driving while intoxicated has been postponed.
The Binghamton Press and Sun-Bulletin confirmed the news today.
Jones is due back in court on July 3. His legal issues stem from an automobile accident in which his vehicle collided with a utility pole on the morning of May 19. He was arrested after authorities arrived at the scene.
As of now, the expected outcome of the sentencing is a one-year conditional discharge and a fine of $1,500.
The UFC 205 lb. champion is still expected to face Dan Henderson this September at UFC 151, almost a full two months after his new sentencing date.
