UFC 147 draws 20M viewers in Brazil according to Tatame
UFC 147 may not have been the most highly-anticipated of fight cards in the US, but that didn’t stop the Brazilian television audience from tuning in.
20 million viewers tuned in on Rede Globo to watch the fights, a record-setting number, according to Tatame.com.
The former record was set by soccer star Ronaldinho‘s debut in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, where UFC 147 took place.
The event was headlined by a catchweight rematch between Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin, who fought for all five rounds in their main event bout. Franklin earned a unanimous decision nod.
Also on the card, “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil” winners were determined, and Brazilian Fabricio Werdum impressed the crowd with a technical knockout win over Mike Russow.
