Cristiano Marcello vs. Reza Madadi announced for October
A Lightweight matchup between Cristiano Marcello and Reza Madadi is official for UFC 153 in Rio de Janeiro.
UFC officials announced the bout earlier today.
Marcello entered this years “TUF 15,” 14 years after his professional MMA debut. Entering “The Ultimate Fighter” with a 12-3 record, the submission expert submitted Jared Carleston to win his spot in the house, but then lost his second fight in the show to Justin Lawrence via knockout. He was knocked out again in his following fight with Sam Sicilia at “The Ultimate Fighter: Live Finale.” Marcello will look to get his career back on track with a win at UFC 153.
Meanwhile, Madadi is coming off of a seven fight win streak, including his UFC debut at UFC on FUEL TV 2 where he submitted Yoislandy Izquierdo. The Swedish-Iranian wrestler will look to extend his win victory when he meets Marcello in October.
The event is set to take place at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro on October 13. The main event will feature UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo vs.Erik Koch.
