$40K Fight Night bonuses handed out
“UFC on FUEL TV 4” is in the books from San Jose, California’s HP Pavilion, and four fighters walked away from the event with a little extra money for their performances.
The event’s Fight Night bonuses each came in at $40,000.
The card’s Fight of the Night award went to Joey Beltran and James Te Huna, who competed in the evening’s co-main event. Te Huna earned a dominant unanimous decision over his tough opponent.
Submission of the Night honors went to Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres, who gained fame during his time as a cast member on “The Ultimate Fighter.” He defeated Damacio Page with a stellar triangle choke submission in the final bout on the preliminary card.
Finally, the Knockout of the Night was handed out to Chris Weidman, though not without controversy. Weidman completely dominated his opponent Mark Munoz in the main event of the night en route to a second round knockout win.
But, hours before on the preliminary card, Andrew Craig pulled off a brilliant knockout comeback victory after nearly being finished by Rafael Natal in the early moments of their bout. Craig recovered after sustaining a good deal of damage to land a head kick that dropped his opponent. One more punch and the fight was stopped.
UFC President Dana White seemed to agree with the sentiment that Craig deserved the Knockout of the Night, stating at the post-fight press conference, “He (Craig) got robbed.”
