Noke drops to welterweight, meets Brenneman in Sept.

Kyle Noke is leaving the 185 lb. division for a stint at welterweight.

Noke announced the news on his Facebook page, also revealing that he will face Charlie Brenneman at UFC 151.

The card is set for September 1 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, featuring a light heavyweight title fight between champion Jon Jones and Dan Henderson.

Noke is currently riding a two-fight losing streak, including a submission loss to Ed Herman back at “UFC on Versus 5.” The losing streak is likely the main factor in his decision to drop down a weight class.

Meanwhile, Brenneman is in a similar situation, as he finds himself coming off a submission loss to Erick Silva at “UFC on FX 3.” He has struggled to find consistency in the promotion, struggling to break into the upper tier of the division.
