“Rousey vs. Kaufman” draws solid average audience
Last Saturday evening’s “Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman” drew an average audience of 529,000 viewers on Showtime.
The event, which took place at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California peaked at 676,000 viewers during the main event, which featured Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and top contender Sarah Kaufman.
Rousey earned a first round submission to retain her bantamweight title.
MMAFighting.com reported the numbers earlier today.
The average audience comes in as the fifth highest for a Strikeforce event on Showtime. Still, it fell well short of the 741,000 viewers who tuned in for “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva” back in 2011.
Also, the audience was 57,000 viewers higher than the first card headlined by Rousey, which was March’s “Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey.”
