Rousey will likely fight again before match up against “Cyborg”

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker isn’t counting out a super fight between Ronda Rousey and Cris “Cyborg” Santos, but he also doesn’t believe Rousey will wait around for her rival to return.

That news comes from MMAjunkie.com, who spoke with Coker on Thursday.

“I’m sure Ronda would like to fight before that,” Coker said. “She barely broke a sweat in her last fight. It’s something where she’s been dominant and she’s going to want to fight, I think, before ‘Cyborg’ can actually get back in the cage off the suspension.”

An opponent for Rousey has yet to be named, which is no surprise, considering she has run the division thin in a short period of time.

The lack of depth makes a Rousey vs. Santos match up especially appealing to the promotion and its fans. The rivalry went full-throttle leading up to “Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman” earlier this summer.

“Cyborg” went after Rousey verbally, challenging the champion and even saying she would fight her in a parking lot.

Rousey came back, welcoming the challenge, but then Santos said she would not drop to bantamweight to make the fight happen. Rousey, meanwhile, says she won’t leave the division.
