Pettis admitted to hospital
Former WEC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis is in the hospital.
Pettis was admitted for a staph infection, which was discovered on his elbow.
Inside MMA was first to report the news.

Nicknamed “Showtime,” Pettis finished out his WEC career in style, earning the 155 lb. title against Ben Henderson. But his UFC career did not begin well as he dropped a unanimous decision loss to Clay Guida in his debut.
Still, two fights later, Pettis finds himself with a 2-1 UFC record and on the verge of becoming a contender once again.
A rivalry between Pettis and fellow former WEC lightweight Donald Cerrone has been talked about for some time now and seems to be the likely next step for both fighters.
