Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass) will star in Overture Films’ upcoming film titled Let Me In, based on the popular Swedish vampire film Let the Right One In. It will be directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) and will come to theaters on October 1st. Kodi Smit-McPhee and Richard Jenkins will also star in the film.
The story follows a young boy named Owen who is bullied by kids at school in his New Mexico suburb in the 80’s. He then befriends a young girl named Abby who turns out to be a vampire.
During an interview with Cinematical, director Matt Reeves said he told now 13-year-old Moretz that “it’s not about playing a vampire, it’s about taking her and making her real and to deal with those darker sides of ourselves, the primal nature.”
Sounds like it’s going to be an intense film. And if you’ve seen the original, you already know you can prepare for just that.
