Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy is suing a concert promoter for $1 million. He accuses Darryl Austin of bad mouthing his name and is demanding damages for harm to his reputation. $1 million is a very hefty price for talking trash about someone.

Apparently, the promoter made defamatory statements about the rapper on social media, which were picked up by various media outlets. He also sent out an email blast trashing Jeezy. All of this is over a deal gone bad concerning a concert in Houston, TX.

According to Darryl, Jeezy went back on their agreement for a concert, after he paid him $30k up front and spent a lot of money on the venue and advertisements; the rest of Jeezy’s money was supposed to be wired later. He claims that Jeezy started demanding more money then agreed and threatened not to perform a month before the concert was scheduled to take place. On the day of the concert, Jeezy was a no show, so Darryl sued him for fraud and demanded over $100k.

Jeezy denies any allegations of fraud and says that he was never paid a dime for the concert. He claims that he has no knowledge of this deal and says that the person who negotiated the concert is not a part of his team. Jeezy even explained to Darryl that he was hoodwinked, but the promoter does not want to hear it. Now Jeezy is counter-suing the promoter after going on this smear campaign against him. The email blast that Darryl sent out, trashing Jeezy, went to all of the ticket holders.
