Coach Mike Budenholzer said Friday that Beal will start alongside Tyus Jones and Devin Booker in 2024-25, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports. Beal will once again be a part of a three-guard lineup in Phoenix, as Jones will replace Grayson Allen as a starter. Beal's 18.2 points per contest in 2023-24 was his lowest mark since 2015-16, but the introduction of a true point guard into the starting unit could help him return to his previous scoring form. However, the 31-year-old will still certainly be behind Kevin Durant and Devin Booker in the offensive pecking order.

Bradley Beal Latest News
Starting in undersized unit
Undergoes minor nose procedure
Beal underwent a minor procedure to realign his septum shortly after the Suns were eliminated from the 2024 NBA Playoffs, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports. Beal broke his nose after taking an elbow from Myles Turner during the second half of a Jan. 26 loss to the Pacers and had to wear a mask for several games. He eventually ditched the mask but still had trouble breathing out of his right nostril during the final months of the campaign. After dropping 36 points on the Timberwolves in the regular-season finale, Beal averaged just 16.5 points during the opening-round series as Minnesota swept Phoenix. Beal is expected to play a key role for the Suns next season, but things are subject to change, as Phoenix fired Frank Vogel early in the offseason and quickly hired Mike Budenholzer.
Ineffective in Game 4 loss
Beal posted nine points (4-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt), one rebound, two assists and one block over 31 minutes before fouling out of Sunday's 122-116 loss to Minnesota in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. This was Beal's worst game of the playoffs, and it resulted in the Suns getting swept by the Timberwolves in the first round. For the fifth straight campaign, Beal was unable to eclipse 60 games and struggled with injuries. He ended up making 53 appearances in his first season with the Suns, posting averages of 18.2 points, 5.0 assists, 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.9 three-pointers.
Scores team-high 28 points Friday
Beal finished Friday's 126-109 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with 28 points (10-19 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and four assists in 43 minutes. Beal led the Suns in scoring Friday, but as has been the case throughout the series, Phoenix simply hasn't been able to hang on with the Timberwolves throughout an entire game, which explains the 0-3 deficit the Suns are currently in right now. This was the first team Beal surpassed the 15-point mark in the series, and the veteran guard will need to keep the momentum going for Game 4 on Sunday if the Suns want to avoid getting swept in the first round.
Passive performance Tuesday
Beal posted 14 points (6-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four rebounds and six assists across 42 minutes during Tuesday's 105-93 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals. Beal was relatively quiet in the loss, much like his teammates. Despite keeping it close, the Suns were simply overwhelmed by the Timberwolves, both inside and outside the paint. Now trailing 2-0 in the series, Phoenix will look to get back on track Friday when they host Game 3.
Erupts for 36 in finale
Beal posted 36 points (14-21 FG, 6-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals across 38 minutes during Sunday's 125-106 victory over Minnesota. The 30-year-old guard closed out the regular season in style, producing his best scoring effort since he dropped 43 points against the Wizards on Feb. 4. Beal went nine straight games in late March and early April without scoring more than 15 points but has built up plenty of momentum heading into the playoffs -- over the Suns' last five contests he scored 20-plus four times, averaging 26.8 points, 6.0 boards, 4.2 assists, 3.8 threes, 1.8 blocks and 1.0 steals while shooting a blistering 61.4 percent from the floor and an incredible 73.1 percent (19-for-26) from beyond the arc.
Flirts with double-double in win
Beal closed Friday's 108-107 victory over the Kings with 20 points (9-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals in 34 minutes. Beal is getting hot at the right time. The veteran guard has averaged an eye-popping 58 percent from the floor over the last seven games, accompanied by an impressive 63. 3 percent conversion rate beyond the arc over the same period. Beal was brought over from Washington this season to help the Suns over the playoff hump, and it's time for the 30-year-old to deliver.
Sparks late rally in loss
Beal logged 19 points (6-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, three assists, five blocks and one steal across 39 minutes during Tuesday's 105-92 loss to the Clippers. Beal got hot in the second half after scoring only two points before halftime. He rattled off 15 points to reduce the Suns' massive deficit, but his oddest statistic came on the defensive end. Beal, who is 6-4, converted a head-scratching five blocked shots in the game, a career high for the veteran guard.
Scores 33 despite defeat
Beal chipped in 33 points (13-19 FG, 7-8 3Pt), three rebounds, five assists and two blocks over 39 minutes during Sunday's 113-105 loss to New Orleans. Beal came through in a game where the Suns needed him, and even though Phoenix ended up losing, Beal's numbers, both from an efficiency and scoring perspective, were impressive. Beal reached the 20-point mark for the first time since March 17, and he'll aim to carry the momentum of this performance to Tuesday's matchup against the Clippers.
