Joshua Primo Latest News
Waived by Chicago
The Bulls waived Primo on Thursday, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports. Primo didn't even last 24 hours with the Bulls, as he was signed earlier Thursday and then was immediately waived. Primo is currently rehabbing from an undisclosed injury and is expected to play for the Windy City Bulls in the G League.
Headed to Chicago
The Bulls signed Primo to an Exhibit 10 contract Thursday, Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic reports. Primo hasn't received significant NBA minutes since his rookie year in 2021-22. Still, the 21-year-old guard will be given the opportunity to make Chicago's regular-season roster.
Let go by Clippers
The Clippers waived Primo (ankle) on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Primo is being cut loose to make room on the 15-man roster for Kai Jones, who agreed to a multi-year deal with the Clippers ahead of Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Rockets. Primo averaged just 1.0 points in 5.0 minutes across two appearances with the Clippers and hasn't played at the NBA or G League level since March 24 due to a left ankle sprain.
Out again Friday
Primo (ankle) won't play Friday against the Jazz. Primo has been sidelined since March 24 and remains without a timetable for a return.
Still out
Primo (ankle) won't play in Wednesday's game versus the Suns, Shane Young of Forbes.com reports. Primo will continue to miss time Wednesday due to a left ankle injury. At this point, it seems unlikely the 20-year-old guard will return this season.
Remains out
Primo (ankle) won't play Tuesday against the Suns, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports. Primo hasn't taken the court for the Clippers since March 1, so his absence shouldn't impact his team's rotation. His next chance to suit up will arrive Wednesday, also against Phoenix.
Out against Cleveland
Primo (ankle) is out for Sunday's game against the Cavaliers. Primo continues to battle a left ankle sprain, but his absence is not expected to have an impact on the rotation.
Out with lower leg injury
Primo recently suffered a left lower-leg injury in a scrimmage and is without a clear timeline for a return, Law Murray of The Athletic reports. Though Primo has been a member of the Clippers' 15-man roster all season, he's seen most of his action in the G League, where he's made 30 appearances. He ended up missing Ontario's season finale Thursday versus the G League Ignite, and the injury provides an explanation for his absence. The Clippers haven't shed any light on the severity of Primo's injury, though Murray notes that Primo needed assistance off the court with a wheelchair. Primo should remain with the NBA team moving forward now that the G League season is complete, but he wouldn't be in store for meaningful minutes even if he was healthy.
Returns to NBA
The Clippers recalled Primo from the Ontario Clippers of the G League on Frriday. Primo was available Friday for the Clippers' 100-97 win over the Magic but wasn't a part of head coach Tyronn Lue's nine-man rotation.
