Out for Friday
McCullar (knee) is out for Friday's game against the Pacers. McCullar will miss a second straight game, though he's not expected to play a big role when healthy. Thus, his absence won't generate a lot of fantasy buzz.
Sidelined to start campaign
McCullar (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Celtics. McCullar underwent left knee surgery in the spring and missed the entire preseason schedule while rehabbing. The rookie out of Kansas doesn't have a return timetable, but when healthy, he's expected to spend most of his time with the G League's Westchester Knicks after inking a two-way deal this summer.
Rehabbing during training camp
McCullar is with the Knicks during their training camp in Charleston, South Carolina, but is still rehabbing his left knee after undergoing surgery in the spring, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports. McCullar's final collegiate season at Kansas was cut short due to his knee injury and it might cause him to miss time this season for the Knicks. Regardless, McCullar is expected to spend much of the 2024-25 campaign with the Westchester Knicks of the G League.
Inks two-way pact
The Knicks signed McCullar (knee) to a two-way contract Monday. After being selected by the club with the No. 56 overall pick of the 2024 draft, McCullar will officially join the Knicks on a two-way pact. The 23-year-old's final collegiate season was cut short due to undergoing surgery on his left knee, and he averaged 18.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.5 steals in 26 regular-season games before being shut down. McCullar will likely spend most of his rookie season with the team's G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks, as he is buried behind a plethora of talent at the forward spot.
