Expected to miss start of season
The Knicks announced Friday that Shamet dislocated his right shoulder and will be re-evaluated at a later date. Shamet exited Tuesday's preseason game against the Hornets after injuring his shoulder while reaching for the ball. The 27-year-old does not have a timetable for his return to game action, though he will likely miss significant time. Shamet is currently signed to a training camp deal, and the Knicks have until January to guarantee his contract.
Headed to locker room
Shamet exited Tuesday's preseason game versus the Hornets with 3:38 remaining in the third quarter and headed to the locker room due to an apparent shoulder injury, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports.
