James supplied 26 points (9-17 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-11 FT), two rebounds and 12 assists across 34 minutes during Tuesday's 124-118 victory over the Jazz. James was visibly impressed with Dalton Knecht's performance, and the rookie was partly responsible for the All-Star's lofty assist total. James and Anthony Davis both scored 26 points, and their ability to record big numbers simultaneously is a big reason why the team is off to a 10-4 start. The duo sometimes suffers with poor results from the supporting cast, but Knecht's three-point barrage allowed them to make plays and keep the defense guessing.

Double-doubles with 12 assists
Takes over in fourth quarter
James delivered 21 points (8-19 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 3-5 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and a steal across 37 minutes in Saturday's 104-99 win over the Pelicans. James was unable to extend his streak of consecutive triple-doubles to five games and was having a relatively down game in this one, at least for his recent standards. However, he took over in the fourth quarter when the Lakers needed him the most and scored 11 of his 21 point-haul in the final 12 minutes. James' triple-double streak might have ended in this low-scoring win, but he remains an above-average source of fantasy production even when he's only a few weeks away from turning 40 years old.
Extends triple-double streak Friday
James finished Friday's 120-115 win over the Spurs with 15 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 16 rebounds, 12 assists and one steal over 38 minutes. James made history Wednesday by being the oldest player in NBA history to record a triple-double in three consecutive games, which he extended to four games Friday. He continues to play at an elite level despite inching closer to 40 years old, and to start the 2024-25 regular season he is averaging 23.5 points on 52.3 percent shooting (including 44.6 percent from three on 5.4 3PA/G), 9.6 assists and 8.8 rebounds over 35.3 minutes per game.
Makes history in win Wednesday
James provided 35 points (13-22 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 5-8 FT), 12 rebounds, 14 assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Wednesday's 128-123 win over the Grizzlies. James became the oldest player in NBA history to record three straight triple-doubles, passing the record he previously established in 2019. He's showing no signs of slowing despite being close to turning 40 years old, and the numbers back that up -- even if he doesn't have the same usage rate he had in previous years. James is averaging 26.8 points, 11.7 assists, 9.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game since the beginning of November.
Triple-double in win over Raptors
James racked up 19 points (6-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 7-7 FT), 10 rebounds, 16 assists and one steal in 35 minutes during Sunday's 123-103 win over Toronto. James delivered his second consecutive triple-double -- and third of the season -- as the Lakers remain undefeated at home this season. James has been on a tear and continues to play at an exceptionally high level given his age. He's averaging 23.2 points, 8.9 assists and 7.7 rebounds while playing 34.8 minutes per contest.
Leads charge with triple-double
James had 21 points (9-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 12 rebounds, 13 assists and three blocks over 34 minutes during Friday's 116-106 victory over the 76ers. D'Angelo Russell was bumped to the bench in this one, so James again took on primary distribution duties -- Austin Reaves (seven) was the only other Laker on the night to record more than three assists. The result was the second triple-double of the season for James and the 114th of his Hall of Fame career, fifth all-time behind Russell Westbrook, Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson and Nikola Jokic. James' 23.7 points a game so far in 2024-25 would be the lowest mark of his career, but that decline is due to lower shot volume, not eroding skills. The 39-year-old is also averaging 8.1 assists, 7.4 boards and 2.7 threes a contests while shooting 52.3 percent from the floor and 47.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Takes over despite defeat
James supplied 39 points (15-24 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and one steal across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 131-114 loss to the Grizzlies. James embraced a more prominent role on offense with Anthony Davis (ankle) sidelined and both D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves struggling. This resulted in the star forward notching a season-high mark in the scoring column. James has scored at least 25 points in three of his last four appearances and seems to have left a minor "slump" behind. He's averaging 28.7 points, 9.0 assists and 7.0 rebounds per game since the start of November while shooting 54.4 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Flirts with triple-double
James closed Monday's 115-103 loss to the Pistons with 20 points (7-16 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-5 FT), eight rebounds, 11 assists and two steals across 40 minutes. James did everything he could Monday night, but the Lakers fell to 4-3 on the season. Anthony Davis suffered an ankle injury in the loss, but he's considered day-to-day. If Davis is unable to play Wednesday against Memphis, James will likely soak up a ton of usage for the Lakers.
Efficient despite loss Wednesday
James finished Wednesday's 134-110 loss to the Cavaliers with 26 points (9-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six rebounds and three assists across 29 minutes. The Lakers were outmatched in this loss Wednesday, but James delivered his most efficient performance of the season from a scoring perspective. He missed just four of his 13 shots from the field en route to clearing the 25-point mark for the second time in five games. James' production has been relatively modest in terms of his lofty standards. He's averaging 21.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 6.6 assists per contest. That's still above average for league standards, but it speaks volumes about how dominant James has been this late into his playing days.
