Turner logged 15 points (7-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt), six rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals across 25 minutes during Sunday's 122-95 victory over Sacramento. Myles Turner Latest News
Strong defensive showing in win
Turner logged 15 points (7-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt), six rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals across 25 minutes during Sunday's 122-95 victory over Sacramento. It's the third time in the last six games that Turner has delivered multiple blocks and steals. The 28-year-old center hasn't pulled down more than seven boards in any December contest, and through nine appearances this month, he's averaging 13.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, 2.1 threes, 2.0 assists and 0.9 steals.
Drops 19 points in win
Turner provided 19 points (5-10 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal in 34 minutes during Thursday's 120-111 win over the Suns. The big man tied Andrew Nembhard for the second-highest mark in scoring on the Pacers behind Pascal Siakam (25 points) on Thursday. Turner also tied his season high in three-point attempts, and he is on pace to shoot a career-high 40.9 percent from downtown while putting up 5.1 attempts per game. Over his last 10 outings, the 28-year-old has averaged 12.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and 2.0 assists while shooting 39.2 percent from deep across 30.6 minutes per contest.
Four rejections Sunday
Turner provided 14 points (4-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, two assists, four blocks and two steals in 28 minutes during Sunday's 119-104 win over the Pelicans. The veteran center extended his streak of games with at least one block to 21 with another strong performance at the rim. Since missing a calf in mid-November with a minor calf issue, Turner is averaging 12.4 points, 7.2 boards, 2.4 blocks, 1.8 assists, 1.8 threes and 0.8 steals, and his 2.1 blocks per game on the season ranks him fourth in the NBA behind Victor Wembanyama, Walker Kessler and Brook Lopez.
Muted performance in loss
Turner ended Sunday's 113-109 loss to the Hornets with 10 points (3-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, one block and one steal over 21 minutes. Turner had a night to forget Sunday and didn't help himself by getting into some foul trouble. His production in December has left a lot to be desired, as the center is averaging 12.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.2 blocks on 44.7 percent shooting over his last five contests.
Game-high four blocks Wednesday
Turner logged 11 points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and four blocks across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 99-90 loss to the Nets. Turner registered a game-high four blocks Wednesday, turning in his fourth game in 20 appearances with at least four swats this season. Over his last 10 outings, the 28-year-old sharpshooting big man is shooting 40.0 percent from downtown while averaging 14.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.0 three-pointers per game. Turner should remain a steady force for fantasy managers when it comes to triples and blocks moving ahead, and he has an advantageous matchup Friday against the Bulls, a team with the fifth-worst defensive efficiency rating (117.6) in the NBA.
Blocks three shots in loss
Turner notched 16 points (5-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and three blocks in 38 minutes during Tuesday's 122-111 loss to the Raptors. Turner amassed multiple blocks for just the second time in the past six games. Despite the Pacers' modest season, Turner has been relatively consistent on the defensive end, averaging 2.9 combined steals and blocks. However, the same cannot be said for the offensive end of the floor, where he is shooting just 47.3 percent from the field, putting up 15.8 points per game.
Good to go vs. NOLA
Turner (calf) is available for Monday's game against the Pelicans. Turner has been working through a right calf issue for the last couple of weeks, but he will be able to play despite Monday's game being the second leg of a back-to-back set. Since and including Nov. 1, Turner has averaged 16.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.9 blocks over 33.1 minutes per game.
Iffy for Monday
Turner (calf) is questionable for Monday's game against the Pelicans. Turner has appeared in three straight games for the Pacers, but he's back on the injury report with a familiar issue. Monday's game is the second leg of a back-to-back set, so the Pacers could hold him out as a precaution. If Turner is unable to play, the Pacers could turn to Jarace Walker and Obi Toppin to pick up the slack.
Available to face Houston
Turner (calf) is available for Wednesday's game against the Rockets, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports. Turner was deemed questionable for this matchup against the Rockets, but he'll suit up and is expected to handle his regular workload at center. Turner is averaging 18.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.3 assists per game since the beginning of November.
