Strong showing off bench
Aldama finished Wednesday's 117-111 victory over the 76ers with 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and six assists in 27 minutes. Aldama moved back to the bench with the return of Desmond Bane to the starting lineup, but that hasn't prevented the Spaniard from putting up solid numbers every time he's on the hardwood. Even though the move back to the second unit will limit his upside considerably, Aldama continues to contribute enough to remain valuable in most formats. He's averaging 12.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game while starting in seven of his 10 appearances since the beginning of November.
Slides back to bench Sunday
Aldama is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. With Desmond Bane (oblique) having made his return to game action in Friday's loss to Golden State, he will now replace Aldama in the starting five. The 23-year-old forward has carved out a significant role with the Grizzlies, averaging 12.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 0.8 steals across 29.0 minutes per game in 13 regular-season outings (11 starts).
Excellent two-way play Wednesday
Aldama registered 15 points (6-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, one block and three steals in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 128-123 loss to the Lakers. Aldama is making the most of Desmond Bane's absence due to an oblique injury, and he continues to deliver excellent two-way numbers every time he steps on the court. Aldama has scored in double digits while grabbing at least five rebounds in five games in a row, and he's averaging 12.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game in six November appearances.
Solid output in win
Aldama notched 12 points (5-13 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal across 32 minutes during Friday's 128-104 win over the Wizards. Aldama is benefiting from the absence of Desmond Bane (oblique) to handle a bigger role on offense, and he's making the most of the opportunity, similar to what he did in 2023-24. Aldama has started in each of Memphis' last five games, a span in which he's averaging 12.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 0.8 steals per contest.

Aldama amassed 11 points (4-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and one steal across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 131-114 victory over the Lakers. Aldama got another start with Desmond Bane (oblique) sidelined, and the Spaniard continues to do what he does best -- rack up stats and fill the boxscore any time he gets decent minutes. Aldama has scored in double digits in five of his seven starts this season, and he's putting up 12.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 0.6 blocks per game when running with the first unit.
Starting after all
Aldama is in the Grizzlies' starting five for Saturday's game against the 76ers, Sam DiGiovanni of ClutchPoints.com reports. Jake LaRavia was initially announced to take Aldama's spot in the starting five for Saturday's game, but the Grizzlies have changed course and will keep the latter with the starters. Aldama will make his fifth start of the regular season alongside Ja Morant, Jaylen Wells, Jaren Jackson and Zach Edey.
Not starting Saturday
Aldama won't start Saturday's game against the 76ers. Aldama posted 19 points (7-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and a steal in 33 minutes as a starter during Thurday's 122-99 win over the Bucks, which was his fourth start through six regular-season games this season. However, he'll shift to the bench Saturday, making room for Jake LaRavia. Aldama's had mixed results in his two games off the bench this season. On Oct. 30 versus Brooklyn, he scored two points and grabbed three rebounds in 22 minutes during a loss. On Oct. 26 versus Orlando, Aldama posted 22 points, seven rebounds, five assists and a block in 28 minutes during a win.
Near double-double vs. Bucks
Aldama ended Thursday's 122-99 win over Milwaukee with 19 points (7-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one steal across 33 minutes. Aldama was inserted back into the Grizzlies' starting lineup Thursday due to injuries to Desmond Bane (oblique) and Marcus Smart (ankle). Aldama took advantage of the opportunity as he was one rebound shy of registering his second double-double of the regular season and was Memphis' second-leading scorer behind Ja Morant (26). As a starter, Aldama is averaging 14.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists over 30.5 minutes per game.
