Pippen finished with 22 points (9-12 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-3 FT), five rebounds, nine assists and two steals over 33 minutes during Saturday's 128-112 win over Atlanta. Pippen shifted into the starting lineup, replacing Ja Morant who was sidelined due to a back injury. The promotion afforded Pippen significant playing time, during which he delivered his best game in almost a month. Prior to Saturday, Pippen had exceeded 20 minutes only once in the past nine games. If Morant is forced to miss more time, Pippen should continue to see an uptick in minutes and quite possibly, production.

Thrives in spot start
Starting sans Morant
Pippen is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Hawks. Pippen is set to make his 11th start of the season in this matchup as injury concerns continue to plague Ja Morant. Pippen is averaging 14.3 points, 5.9 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game in his 10 previous starts.
Back to bench role Friday
Pippen is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Nets. Ja Morant is back and starting after a one-game absence, so Pippen will return to his regular second-unit role in this contest. Pippen is averaging 8.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game when coming off the bench this season.
Fills in with double-double
Pippen accumulated 14 points (6-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, 12 assists and two steals in 22 minutes during Sunday's 140-112 win over the Wizards. Pippen showed Memphis' depth on a night where both teams were depleted with injuries. Thanks to Pippen, the Grizzlies have gone 7-4 without Ja Morant's (back) services, as the Vanderbilt product has performed admirably during the superstar's absences. Despite his success as a fill-in, Pippen's numbers don't merit fantasy consideration, barring a significant absence from Morant.
Starting Sunday
Pippen will enter the starting lineup in Sunday's game against the Wizards. With Ja Morant (back) and Desmond Bane (toe) sidelined, Pippen will get the starting nod. In nine starts this season, the 24-year-old has averaged 14.3 points, 5.2 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals across 26.9 minutes per contest.
Sees 11 minutes
Pippen ended Sunday's 136-121 win over Indiana with four points (2-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt), one rebound and two assists in 11 minutes. Pippen's minutes continue to trend in the wrong direction with the Grizzlies getting healthier. He's seen 14 or fewer minutes in three of the past four games, so he'll be a hard player to trust in fantasy formats while Ja Morant is upright. Plus, it doesn't help that the Grizzlies use such a large rotation.
Slides back to bench Friday
Pippen will come off the bench in Friday's game against the Pelicans. With Ja Morant (knee) returning to game action, Pippen will retreat to his normal role off the bench. In his last five outings (four starts), the 24-year-old averaged 15.2 points, 5.4 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals while shooting 58.5 percent across 25.4 minutes per game. It wouldn't come as a surprise if Morant remains under a minutes restriction, meaning Pippen could still see an uptick in playing time off the bench.
Will start sans Morant
Pippen will start Wednesday's game against the Pistons, Keith Langlois of the Pistons' official site reports. With Ja Morant (knee) out again, Pippen will get another crack in the starting lineup. In seven starts this season, Pippen has averaged 14.1 points, 4.6 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 26.1 minutes per game.
Back in bench role
Pippen isn't starting Monday's game against the Trail Blazers, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. As anticipated, Pippen will return to his usual bench role following the return of Ja Morant from a hip injury. Pippen had a solid run with the first unit, averaging 13.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.1 steals in eight starts.
