Cindy Lee Garcia, an actress who performed in Innocence of Muslims, is suing filmmaker Nakoula Basseley Nakoula for duping her into a role that could get her killed.
Garcia says she was fooled into believing the anti-Islam hate flick that sparked violent protests at U.S. embassies across the Middle East would be a desert adventure film. Now she’s the star of a film that has extremists calling for bloody revenge.
She’s also suing Google and its subsidiary Youtube — where the video is hosted, Reuters reports. She’s demanding the video be taken offline.
Garcia claims she thought the film was called Desert Warrior — “a historical Arabian Desert film.”
Now she’s living in hiding and unable to visit her grandchildren.
