Paula Broadwell Returns Home With Hubby; Brother Says She’s Sorry

Paula Broadwell is back at the Charlotte, N.C. home she shares with her doctor husband, Scott and their young sons, and her brother is saying she’s “incredibly sorry” for hurting her family and has acknowledged she made a mistake by having an affair with former CIA Director David Petraeus.

However, Broadwell herself has not spoken publicly or responded to the reporter camped outside her home as she came and went Monday, running errands, taking her children to school, and getting back into some sort of routine.

She did, however, smack an Associated Press reporter in the face with her car door. But the reporter said she doesn’t believe Broadwell did it intentionally, so they’re all kind of letting that problem drop.

She’s been hiding out for the past week at a mansion owned by Stephen Franz, her brother, who spoke out after his sister went home, telling People Magazine “she’s been devastated by this.”

She is filled with guilt and shame for what she’s done and she’s incredibly sorry for the pain she’s caused her husband, her family, Petraseus’s family. She accepts responsibility for her actions and knows she made a mistake.

Broadwell maintained her silence in front of the reporters, but her husband was able to crack a few jokes about the media furor around his family since Nov. 9, when Petraeus resigned.

I’ll be out here Tuesday taking out trash, if you want to shoot that.

He said his family will release a statement soon. However, judging from their return home, it would appear the couple is trying to work things out and get past the affair that stunned the world and brought down one of the United States’ most-decorated, highly respected war heroes.
