Despite reports that Lance Armstrong finally admitted drug use in his epic Oprah Winfrey interview — recorded Monday and set to air Thursday — Oprah appeared on CBS This Morning today and hinted that he didn’t come as clean as he could have.
“I would say he did not come clean in the manner I expected him,” she said. “It was surprising to me. I would say that for myself, my team, all of us in the room – we were mesmerized and riveted by some of his answers.”
It seems like Oprah prepared for her session with the disgraced cyclist, but she was still surprised by Lance’s responses to her in-depth questions. In fact, Oprah arrived at Lance’s estate with 112 questions for their 2 and a half hour interview.
Oprah went on to say that Lance “answered the questions in a way that he was ready.”
