‘Apparent Suicide’ on Red Sox Owner John Henry’s Yacht


The Boston Globe reported this afternoon that the police are investigating what they are calling an “apparent suicide” on the yacht of Boston Red Sox owner John Henry. The boat, called The Iroquois was and still is docked at Rowes Wharf in central Boston.

Cheryl Fiandaca, the police spokeswoman, said that the “28-to-30-year-old male” was in cardiac arrest when the police and paramedics arrived. The Boston Globe Reports:

Fiandaca said the man may have been working aboard the 164-foot-long vessel, which was docked at 30 Rowes Wharf, behind the Boston Harbor Hotel.

Here is a video of Henry’s Yacht, the Iroquois passing through the Cape Cod Canal. He bought it in 2002 for $34 million.


John Henry is expected to give a statement later this afternoon.
