At just 18 years old, Gold is one of the exciting young faces in this year’s Olympics. In fact, she has already made a splash in Sochi with her performance in the team free skate.

Thanks to Gold’s flawless routine in the final night of team competition, the U.S. took home the bronze medal.

Gracie has a twin sister, Carly, who is also a competitive figure skater.

3. She’s Also Really Good at Juggling



If juggling was an Olympic sport, Gold might represent the U.S. She appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno earlier this year to show off her talent.


4. She Began Skating at Age 8

Gold picked up skating when she attended a birthday party at an ice arena when she was eight years old.

There were figure skaters on the ice doing amazing tricks,” Gold said via the Ice Network. “I was so impressed. I signed up for classes later that fall.”


5. Besides Being Ridiculously Good at Skating, She’s Mostly a Normal Teenage Girl

If you strip away the skates, the ice rink and the gold medal aspirations, Gold isn’t much different than most 18-year-old girls.

According to her 2014 Olympic profile, Gold enjoys tennis, listening to music, spending time with friends, swimming, photography, baking and reading.

Her official website lists her as a fan of The Hunger Games, Mean Girls and Modern Family.
