Last Tuesday night, an 8.2-magnitude earthquake hit the northern coast of Chile. CNN is now reporting that the quake killed at least 5 people and injured hundreds. It is unknown yet exactly how much damage was done in the seismic event, but now geologists are worried the quake may have just been a precursor to a much larger one. Here are the photographs you need to see in order to grasp the damage and fear that swept across Chile.
The latest reports also claim that around 300 inmates from a women’s prison have escaped, and parts of the country have become plagued by blackouts and looting.
