Breaking: Obama Calls Emergency Cabinet Meeting on Ebola

(Getty Images)

The White House announced Wednesday that Obama would cancel his scheduled trips to visit Connecticut and New Jersey and instead has called an emergency meeting of his Cabinet to discuss the coordination of the White House response to the Ebola outbreak.

This comes on the heels of the news that a second nurse who had treated Thomas Eric Duncan in Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital has contracted the disease. She traveled on a flight from Cleveland, where she was visiting family, back to Dallas the evening before she was diagnosed.

Obama will also join a conference call this afternoon with British Prime Minister David Cameron, as well as the leaders of France, Germany, and Italy, to discuss what further action can be taken against Ebola.
