Tonight was the third Republican Primary Debate for 2015. It took place at the Coors Events Center at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado and featured Republican frontrunners Donald Trump and Ben Carson. Other candidates on stage included Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, businesswoman Carly Fiorina, Ohio Governor John Kasich, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, and Senator Marco Rubio of Florida.
Tonight’s debate was a turning point for many candidates, especially Senator Rubio who artfully defended his dismal senate attendance record after it was called into question by Bush. Bush was referencing a recent editorial by the Floridian newspaper The Sun Sentinel, which reported that “Rubio has missed more votes than any other senator this year.”
Other strongarm moments including Senator Cruz getting into a shouting match with debate moderator John Harwood.
Search trends seem to agree that Rubio and Cruz may be gaining some momentum for upcoming weeks.
