Solar Eclipse Idaho 2017: Total Eclipse of the Sun Time of Day & Map

The 2017 Solar Eclipse is finally here and Idaho is one of the best states for viewing the eclipse. Here’s your guide on what time of day the eclipse is visible in Idaho, the map and path of totality, weather forecasts, traffic news and more.

ECLIPSE TIME: Total eclipse time for Idaho ranges from around 11:24 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. MDT, as reported by Great American Eclipse and the duration of it will be two minutes and about 15 seconds. The partial eclipse begins about 10 minutes after 10 a.m. MDT. According to KTVB, here are some estimated times on when to view the eclipse in different areas of Idaho.

WEATHER: Clear skies are expected throughout Idaho, according to the Idaho Statesman.

PATH WIDTH: 64.4 miles

TRAFFIC: Expect heavy traffic due, but FOX 13 Now reports that highways will be maintaining their standard lane configurations for the event. According to the Idaho Transportation Department, areas that can expect congestion include “I-15 from Idaho Falls to Utah, US-95 at Riggins, US-93 at Craters of the Moon, US-20 near Arco, and SH-55 between Banks and Boise.”
