Purdy completed 18 of 26 pass attempts for 260 yards and a touchdown while rushing eight times for 56 yards and another score in Sunday's 30-24 win over the Cowboys. Purdy carried San Francisco's offense on a night where two key players -- Deebo Samuel and Jordan Mason -- left the contest early due to injury. The 24-year-old Purdy pitched a clean outing with two touchdowns and no turnovers, the second time he has accomplished that feat in the last three weeks. The Iowa State standout is averaging 262.6 passing yards per game this season with 12 touchdowns to nine turnovers. The status of multiple star players on offense -- including running back Christian McCaffrey (Achilles) -- will determine whether Purdy will be a good or great fantasy play coming out of San Francisco's Week 9 bye when the team visits Tampa Bay on Nov. 10.

Brock Purdy Latest News
Leads SF to victory on SNF
Stymied in Super Bowl rematch
Purdy completed 17 of 31 pass attempts for 212 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions while adding eight carries for 27 yards and two rushing scores in Sunday's 28-18 loss to Kansas City. Both starting quarterbacks in Sunday's Super Bowl LVIII rematch struggled passing the ball against tough opposing defenses, combining for no touchdown passes and five interceptions. Patrick Mahomes wound up earning the victory for his team, but Purdy had the superior fantasy day with two trips to the end zone as a rusher. The latter also lost his top two receivers to injury at halftime, which helps excuse the horrific passing performance. Purdy was coming off of his best statistical game of the season in Week 6, so fantasy managers shouldn't panic ahead of a much softer matchup against the Cowboys next Sunday.
Bounces back with three TDs
Purdy completed 18 of 28 passes for 255 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the 49ers' 36-24 win over the Seahawks on Thursday night. He also rushed four times for 19 yards. Coming off a two-interception game and back-to-back contests with a sub-56.0 completion percentage, Purdy enjoyed a resurgent night that featured his second three-touchdown tally of the season. The third-year signal-caller's scoring tosses came in the second, third and fourth quarters, with Purdy connecting with Deebo Samuel (76 yards) and George Kittle (10 and nine yards). Purdy recorded completions to seven different pass catchers overall, and he'll likely need to turn in an even higher-caliber performance when he and the 49ers tangle with the Chiefs at home in a Week 7 Super Bowl rematch on Sunday, Oct. 20.
Throws two picks Sunday
Purdy completed 19 of 35 pass attempts for 244 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 24-23 loss to Arizona. Purdy and San Francisco's offense had the team in position to win this favored contest before a horrific second half saw the home team fall by one point. Both NFC West clubs sit at 2-3 now, but the 49ers were expected to be championship contenders while the Cardinals are in the midst of a rebuild. This was easily Purdy's worst fantasy game through five weeks, but fantasy managers shouldn't panic about their quarterback given Purdy's success last season, plus the plethora of weapons the 49ers can offer when healthy.
Mixed results in second win
Purdy (back) completed 15 of 27 pass attempts for 288 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 30-13 win over the Patriots. Purdy and his teammates took care of business in a favorable home matchup Sunday. The end results were modest from a fantasy perspective, with San Francisco passing for just one touchdown in the lopsided team win. Purdy was dealing with back soreness coming off of last week's three-touchdown performance, which might help explain his poor completion percentage (56.0 percent) compared to his 69 percent completion rate in two-plus years as a pro. The rising star continues to be a strong fantasy option heading into another favorable home matchup against the Cardinals on Sunday.
Full practice Wednesday
San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said Purdy (back) will be a full practice participant Wednesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Shanahan revealed Monday that Purdy was tending to back soreness in the wake of this past Sunday's road loss to the Rams, and while he considered the quarterback day-to-day, the injury won't affect Purdy's practice reps to kick off Week 4 prep. Purdy thus is in line to continue leading the 49ers offense Sunday against the Patriots, but the skill-position players available to him remain up in the air. Running back Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) is on injured reserve for the foreseeable future, wideout Deebo Samuel (calf) won't practice Wednesday, and tight end George Kittle (hamstring) will be a limited participant, which leaves receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings and running back Jordan Mason as the 49ers' healthy weapons for the time being.
Dealing with sore back
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Purdy is tending to a sore back after Sunday's 27-24 loss at the Rams and is considered day-to-day, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. And the injuries just keep coming for the 49ers, but at least in the case of Purdy, he doesn't appear to be dealing with a significant issue. Still, he may endure some practice limitations once the team reconvenes at practice Wednesday in advance of Sunday's contest against the Patriots. Whether or not WR Deebo Samuel (calf) or TE George Kittle (hamstring) are able to put themselves in positions to return to action also remains to be seen.
Delivers despite taking loss
Purdy completed 22 of 30 pass attempts for 292 yards and three touchdowns while rushing 10 times for 41 yards in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Rams. Purdy lost a fumble late in the contest after being hit by a blind-side rush from Rams linebacker Byron Young in the fourth quarter of Sunday's narrow loss. The star quarterback played well despite the late turnover, providing fantasy managers with his best output through three weeks. Purdy and the 49ers will return home to Santa Clara to take on another 1-2 team, the New England Patriots, next Sunday at 4:05 pm PST.
Throws for over 300 yards in loss
Purdy completed 28 of his 36 passing attempts for 319 yards, one touchdown and one interception while rushing twice for 12 yards in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Vikings. Purdy was charged with a second turnover in the form of a lost fumble in defeat. The 24-year-old's gaffes proved to be costly for both fantasy managers and the 49ers after the team lost by one score despite being favored in Sunday's road contest. Purdy was his usual sharp self in the pocket (78 completion percentage) outside of the pair of second-half turnovers Sunday. The star quarterback has a prime opportunity to get right against a rebuilding Rams defense next Sunday after a pair of pedestrian fantasy lines to kick off the 2024 campaign.
