Inactive for Week 18
Lucas (groin) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports. Lucas injured his groin during the Commanders' Week 17 overtime win over the Falcons, which was serious enough to prevent him from practicing all week. He'll work on rehabbing from the injury and recovering enough to be available for the start of the playoffs.
Injures groin versus Atlanta
Lucas suffered a groin injury in Sunday night's game against the Falcons and is questionable to return. Lucas was injured in the second half against Atlanta. Trent Scott has replaced Lucas at right tackle.
Good to go vs. Philly
Lucas (ankle) is active for Thursday night's game against the Eagles, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports. Lucas will return Thursday from at two-game absence due to an ankle injury he suffered in Week 8 against the Bears, and he will provide depth on the Commanders' offensive line.
Missing another week
Lucas (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Steelers. Lucas was held out of practice all week and is now in line to miss his second consecutive game due to an ankle injury sustained in Washington's Week 8 win over the Bears. Trent Scott will likely serve as the Commanders' top backup tackle in Lucas' stead.
Won't suit up Week 9
Lucas (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports. Lucas hurt his ankle in last Sunday's win over the Bears and didn't play after the third quarter. The left tackle has started five of the eight games in which he's played this season and has logged 61 percent of the Commanders' offensive snaps. Brandon Coleman's workload will likely increase as a result of Lucas' absence Sunday.
Questionable to return
Lucas (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's contest against the Bears. Lucas was seen limping to the locker room in the third quarter, which is now understood to have been the result of an ankle injury. The 33-year-old's status for the rest of the game is up in the air and Trent Scott is a candidate for an increase in workload in his absence.
Stays with Washington
Lucas is re-signing with the Commanders on a one-year contract Tuesday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports. Lucas is now set for a fifth season in Washington, where he's mostly spent time as a reserve offensive tackle, starting four games with the team last season.
