Hopkins caught three of four targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 30-21 loss to Buffalo. Hopkins actually finished as the team's second-leading receiver despite his mild statistical output Sunday. It was a rough day overall for Kansas City's key receivers outside of rookie Xavier Worthy (4-61-1). Hopkins was targeted in the end zone late in the contest, but he drew a pass interference penalty instead. The Chiefs will lick their wounds and try to bounce back in a softer matchup against the Panthers next Sunday.

Assuming the latter is healthy following his injury scare Monday, then Hopkins would remain a strong play against Denver on Sunday.

After all, what is considered 'significant' can be interpreted widely, and plays aren't necessarily the same thing as snaps.
Hopkins is expected to play "significant snaps" in his Chiefs debut Sunday against the Raiders, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. After being acquired from the Titans, Hopkins officially joined the Chiefs on Thursday and got in two practices with his new team before being cleared to play Sunday. According to Rapoport, the Chiefs "gave him as much as he could possibly handle" from the playbook once he reported to the team, and the coaching staff is apparently comfortable having him handle a big role right off that bat. Rapoport adds that Hopkins' snap count should only increase in the coming weeks once he settles into his new organization, but the 32-year-old looks like he could still operate as Patrick Mahomes' No. 1 wideout right away in Week 8. Over his six games with Tennessee, Hopkins recorded just 15 catches for 173 yards and one touchdown on 21 targets, though he'll benefit from a big upgrade in quarterback play in going from Will Levis (shoulder) and Mason Rudolph to a two-time league MVP in Mahomes.
Hopkins (lower leg) isn't listed on the Chiefs' Week 8 injury report. In his first practice with the Chiefs, Hopkins, who arrived via a trade with the Titans that became official Thursday, worked without restriction, signaling that he's past the lower-leg soreness he had coming out Week 7 action. Though he'll practice with his new team only twice before Sunday's game against the Raiders, Hopkins has a chance to play this weekend, with Adam Teicher of ESPN.com relaying that coach Andy Reid is open to the idea of using the veteran wideout right away, with Reid noting on that subject Friday, "Why wait?"
