Gano went 1-for-2 on field-goal attempts and converted both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's Week 10 loss to Carolina in Germany. Gano returned to action for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 2. The veteran kicker's first chance at putting up points went awry, as he drove a 43-yard field-goal try wide right in the second quarter. Gano managed to bounce back from there, converting both of his extra-point attempts before drilling a clutch 42-yard field goal in the final 10 seconds of the fourth period to send the game into overtime. Despite his early miss Sunday, Gano seems to be recovered from the hamstring issue, and he'll almost certainly be the Giants' placekicker against Tampa Bay in Week 12 following New York's Week 11 bye.

Graham Gano Latest News
Makes one of two FG tries in return
Cleared to play Sunday
Gano (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Panthers in Munich, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Gano had been listed as questionable heading into Sunday, but the Giants' decision to activate him from injured reserve Saturday while not elevating Jude McAtamney from the practice squad hinted that Gano was on track to be available in Germany. Before injuring his hamstring on the opening kickoff of a Week 2 loss to the Commanders and landing on IR, Gano converted both of his field-goal tries -- including one from 50 yards -- in New York's Week 1 loss to Minnesota.
Set to return Week 10
The Giants activated Gano (hamstring) from injured reserve Saturday, and he's slated to return to action Sunday versus Carolina, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports. This had been the expectation since Gano was designated to return from IR on Wednesday and logged a limited practice that day. The veteran kicker was limited again both Thursday and Friday, setting up his return to action Sunday against the Panthers. Gano has played in just two games this season, going 2-for-2 on field-goal tries in Week 1 against Minnesota before getting hurt on the opening kickoff Week 2 versus Washington. Jude McAtamney took over as New York's placekicker in Week 9 after Greg Joseph (abdomen) landed on IR, and McAtamney remains on the Giants' practice squad as organizational kicking depth.
Questionable versus Carolina
Gano (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. Gano hasn't kicked since Week 2 but is eligible to be activated in time to kick versus Carolina, his former team. If Gano isn't activated Saturday, Jude McAtamney would be the kicker for New York.
Remains limited Thursday
Gano (right hamstring) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. In the wake of New York designating him for return from injured reserve Wednesday, Gano has put together back-to-back capped sessions as he tests out the right hamstring that he strained on the opening kickoff of a Week 2 matchup with the Commanders. If Gano isn't able to get back on the active roster for Sunday's contest against the Panthers in Germany, Jude McAtamney would be elevated from the practice squad to handle kicking duties.
Returns to limited practice
Gano (hamstring) Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site in practice Wednesday. Gano missed the past seven games with a hamstring strain and is just now having his 21-day window opened. Replacement kicker Greg Joseph (abdominal) was placed on IR lsat week, leaving practice-squadder Jude McAtamney as the last option if Gano isn't ready for Sunday's game against the Panthers in Munich.
Set to practice Wednesday
The Giants designated Gano (hamstring) for return from injured reserve Wednesday. Gano has been cleared to resume practicing with the Giants for the first time since Week 2 after missing the team's last seven games with a right hamstring strain. Jude McAtamney was elevated from the practice squad ahead of last week's loss to Washington to handle kicking duties, but with no other kicker on the 53-man roster at the moment, the expectation is that Gano will be ready to play this Sunday against the Panthers in Munich if he experiences no setbacks in practice.
Could be nearing return
Gano (hamstring) appears to be close to returning from injured reserve, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. The report is somewhat vague, as Raanan doesn't specifically note if Gano will be ready to resume practicing next week. Gano was placed on injured reserve Sept. 17 with a right hamstring strain, and the Giants have yet to open his 21-day evaluation window even though he'll be missing his seventh straight game Sunday against the Commanders. Greg Joseph had been serving as Gano's replacement, but after Joseph landed on injured reserve Saturday with an abdominal injury, the Giants signed Jude McAtamney off their practice squad to handle Week 9 kicking duties. Unless Gano starts practicing during the upcoming week, McAtamney could remain the Giants' kicker for their Nov. 10 matchup with the Panthers as well.
Won't return Week 7
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Gano (hamstring) won't be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Gano has missed the required four games, but the veteran placekicker has not yet made enough progress in his recovery from his right hamstring injury to resume practicing. Greg Joseph should once again serve as the Giants' kicker Sunday, despite the fact that he missed both his field-goal tries during New York's loss to the Bengals in Week 6.
