Haason Reddick Latest News
Good to go against Bills
Reddick (neck) is active for Sunday's game against the Bills. Reddick was limited in the first two practices of the week due to a neck injury, but he managed to upgrade to a full participant in Friday's session. The 2017 first-round pick will start at defensive end Sunday opposite Will McDonald, while Micheal Clemons and Eric Watts provide rotational depth. Reddick has accumulated nine tackles (six solo), including 0.5 sacks, and one pass defense across eight regular-season games.
Questionable for Week 17
Reddick (neck) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Bills, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Despite Friday's full practice session, Reddick is listed as questionable for Sunday's divisional contest after likely sustaining a neck injury in the Jets' Week 16 loss to the Rams. Reddick has underwhelmed in his first season with the Jets, appearing in just eight games and recording nine total tackles, including 0.5 sacks. If the Temple product can play through his neck issue in Week 17, he's expected to serve as one of the Jets' top edge rushers.
Cleared to play
Reddick (illness) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Jaguars and is expected to play, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Reddick missed Wednesday's practice, got in limited work Thursday, and then practiced fully Friday. In six games since ending his holdout, Reddick has just eight tackles (five solo), including 0.5 sacks, and just one QB hit. Reddick has made minimal impact for the Jets' defense.
Returns to practice
Reddick (illness) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. The pass rusher returned to the field after missing Wednesday's session with the illness. It appears to have been temporary, though Reddick's status Friday will be worth monitoring. The former Eagle has eight tackles (five solo), including 0.5 sacks, in six games with the Jets this season.
Opens week as DNP
Reddick (illness) was listed as a non-participant at Wednesday's walkthrough practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. The veteran pass rusher appears to have come down with an illness that held him out of the Jets' walkthrough practice Wednesday. Reddick's illness likely won't sideline him for the Jets' Week 15 matchup against the Jaguars, but there's a chance he misses Sunday's contest if he can't upgrade to at least limited participation Thursday or Friday.
Returns for second half
Reddick (ankle) has returned to Sunday's game against the Colts, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports. Reddick went to the locker room in the second quarter after injuring his ankle. It doesn't appear to be a serious issue, however, as he's back on the field for the second half of Sunday's game.
Leaves game with ankle injury
Reddick (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Colts, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. Reddick headed to the locker room after suffering an ankle injury in the second quarter of Sunday's game. While Reddick is being evaluated, Eric Watts and Micheal Clemons will see an uptick in defensive snaps at defensive end alongside starter Will McDonald.
Past neck issue
Reddick (neck) was listed as a full participant on the Jets' estimated injury report Tuesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. After holding out of Jets' first seven games of the regular season while pursuing a new deal, Reddick made his Gang Green debut Sunday against the Patriots, during which he played 26 snaps on defense and did not record a tackle. He was listed as a limited practice participant on Monday's estimation due to a neck injury, but the 2017 first-round pick was listed as a full participant on Tuesday's report and appears to be past the issue. Reddick will look to be more productive during Thursday night's game against the Texans.
Set to make team debut
Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich confirmed Friday that Reddick will make his Jets debut Sunday against the Patriots, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Reddick will first have to be added to the active roster from the exempt list, with that official transaction expected to take place in time for him to suit up Sunday against the Patriots. After a lengthy holdout saga that was resolved soon after Reddick acquired new representation, the two-time Pro Bowler is set to finally don green and white for the first time. Due to his late start, Reddick almost certainly won't be able to extend his streak of four consecutive seasons with double-digit sack totals.
