Back to full practice
Campbell (ribs) returned to a full practice Thursday. Campbell was limited Wednesday but appears fine for Sunday night's Week 18 clash against the Vikings after playing 100 percent of the defensive snaps last Monday night against the 49ers. Campbell has appeared in all 16 games this season, logging 125 tackles (67 solo), including five TFLs and 1.5 sacks, five pass breakups and one forced fumble. He's played 100 percent of the defensive snaps in six straight contests.
Nursing ribs injury
Campbell (ribs) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's practice estimation. Campbell appears to have picked up a ribs injury in the Lions' Week 17 win over the 49ers, despite playing 100 percent of the team's defensive snaps and recording nine total tackles. His practice participation Thursday and Friday will likely provide the best indication of whether he can play through his ribs issue in the Week 18 matchup against the Vikings. The second-year linebacker from Iowa may see a lighter workload if he suits up Sunday, especially with the possibility of Alex Anzalone (forearm) returning from injured reserve.
Paces team in tackles in win
Campbell recorded nine total tackles (four solo) in Monday night's 40-34 win over San Francisco. Campbell was once again atop the stat sheet for Detroit, leading the team with nine takedowns in the victory. The linebacker has now registered at least nine tackles in six games this year, all of which have come in the Lions' last nine contests. On the season, Campbell has now compiled a team-high 125 total tackles (67 solo), including 1.5 sacks, while also adding a forced fumble and five passes defensed over 16 games.
Notches seven stops in Week 16
Campbell recorded seven tackles (four solo) and a defensed pass in Sunday's 34-17 win over the Bears. Campbell ranked third on Detroit in stops behind Brian Branch and Amik Robertson. Campbell has been quite consistent this season with at least seven tackles in 12 of his 15 contests. He's already recorded more tackles (116) this year than the 95 he registered during 17 regular-season games as a rookie last season.
Double-digit stops in loss
Campbell recorded 11 total tackles (eight solo) in Sunday's 48-42 loss to the Bills. Campbell remained rather active in Week 15, reaching double-digit tackles for the first time since Week 9 versus the Packers. The linebacker has now reached at least eight takedowns in six of the last eight contests. Campbell is up to 109 total tackles (59 solo), including 1.5 sacks, while also adding a forced fumble and three passes defensed over 14 games in 2024.
Team-high eight tackles Week 14
Campbell registered eight tackles (three solo) during the Lions' 34-31 win over the Packers in Week 14. Campbell played every single defensive snap in Week 14, which is the fourth time he's done that in the Lions' last five games. With four games left in the 2024 regular-season, the second-year linebacker has already surpassed his rookie tackling numbers and is up to 98 tackles (51 solo), including 1.5 sacks, along with three pass defenses and two forced fumbles across 13 contests. Campbell is on track to break the tackling century mark in Week 15 against the Lions on Sunday, Dec. 15.
Nine tackles in win
Campbell recorded nine total tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 24-6 win over Indianapolis. Campbell led the team in takedowns, registering at least nine tackles for the fourth time in the last five games. With Alex Anzalone (forearm) on injured reserve until late December, Campbell will continue to operate as Detroit's unquestioned top option at middle linebacker for the foreseeable future. On the season, Campbell has compiled 87 total tackles (45 solo), including 1.5 sacks, while also adding a forced fumble and a pass defensed over 11 contests.
Solid outing in blowout win
Campbell recorded nine total tackles (three solo), including 0.5 sacks, in Sunday's 52-6 win over the Jaguars. Campbell led Detroit's defense in total tackles Sunday and has now posted seven-plus stops in each of his last seven outings. The second-year pro from Iowa has really emerged as the Lions' top inside linebacker this season, having recorded 78 total tackles, including 1.5 sacks, and one pass defended across the team's first 10 games. He's expected to remain a viable IDP choice as the Lions travel to Indianapolis in Week 12.
Double-digit stops in win
Campbell recorded 13 total tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 24-14 win over the Packers. Campbell was flying around the field in Week 9, compiling a season-high 13 tackles while playing 92 percent of the team's defensive snaps. The linebacker has now crossed the double-digit tackles threshold in back-to-back weeks after not reaching that mark in any of the team's first six games of the year. On the season, Campbell is up to 62 total tackles (32 solo), including 1.0 sacks, while also forcing a fumble over eight games.
