Brooks (ankle) is active for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Ravens. The reserve wideout was limited in the last two practices of the week, but Brooks will be available to Dak Prescott as the No. 4 receiver behind the top trio of CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks and Jalen Tolbert. Brooks has played an unsurprisingly minor role thus far over the first two games, recording a 2-28 line on four targets.

Jalen Brooks Latest News
Active in Week 3
Brooks (ankle) is active for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Ravens. The reserve wideout was limited in the last two practices of the week, but Brooks will be available to Dak Prescott as the No. 4 receiver behind the top trio of CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks and Jalen Tolbert. Brooks has played an unsurprisingly minor role thus far over the first two games, recording a 2-28 line on four targets.
Questionable versus Baltimore
Brooks (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Brooks was added to the injury report Thursday, getting in limited practice reps Thursday and Friday. His mid-week addition is an ominous sign for his Week 3 availability, but it sounds like Brooks' status will come down to Sunday morning. Brooks has two catches for 28 yards on four targets through two games and has played an increased role as the Cowboys' WR4 early on this season.
Pops up on injury report
Brooks (ankle) was limited in Thursday's practice, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Brooks wasn't listed on the Cowboys' injury report Wednesday, but it appears the 2023 seventh-round pick is nursing an ankle injury. His practice participation Friday will provide clarity on his status for Sunday's game against the Ravens. Brooks has caught two passes (on four targets) for 28 yards across the first two games of the regular season.
One grab against New Orleans
Brooks caught one of three targets for 10 yards in Sunday's loss to the Saints. The second-year wideout has caught exactly one pass in each of the Cowboys' first two games this season. While he's holding down a steady role in the offense, Brooks isn't likely to see significant volume as long as CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks and Jalen Tolbert are all healthy.
Leading receiver in preseason loss
Brooks caught both his targets for 49 yards in Sunday's 13-12 preseason loss to the Rams. With CeeDee Lamb still holding out and Brandin Cooks and Jalen Tolbert both sitting this one out along with most of the Cowboys' other offensive starters, Brooks got the start at wideout and caught a 43-yard strike from Cooper Rush on the team's opening drive. The second-year wideout then hooked up with Trey Lance for a short completion on Dallas' second possession before Brooks called it a day. The South Carolina product appears to have a fairly firm hold on the No. 4 spot on the depth chart, but that job could become more interesting from a fantasy perspective if Lamb's absence extends into the regular season, or he isn't quite up to speed by Week 1.
Could push for No. 3 role
Brooks looked good during spring practices and may get a chance to compete for the No. 3 receiver role in Dallas, ESPN.com's Todd Archer reports. Jalen Tolbert is the favorite for the role, having essentially split it with Michael Gallup (now on the Raiders) last season. Brooks, meanwhile, played 77 snaps on offense and 82 on special teams in seven games as a rookie seventh-round pick, with four of his six catches coming in a 49-17 win over the Giants in Week 10. He was often a healthy scratch last season but now has an opportunity to move up to third or fourth on the depth chart behind entrenched starters CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks.
Active in Week 10
Brooks last saw active status Week 6 and has yet to record his first NFL catch across 20 snaps over two games. The rookie seventh-round pick doesn't necessarily have a good chance of breaking the ice in that regard Sunday, however, considering all of CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, Michael Gallup and Jalen Tolbert are ahead of him in the air attack's pecking order.
Remains sidelined
Brooks has only appeared in two contests thus far during his rookie campaign. He'll continue working to earn an active role with the team and suit up Week 10 against the Giants.
Won't play Sunday
The 2023 seventh-round pick out of South Carolina most recently played in Dallas' Week 5 game against the Chargers, but he failed to record a stat. Brooks has appeared in two games for the Cowboys this season, playing primarily on special teams (45 percent of snaps).
