Feliciano has been dealing with knee soreness in recent weeks and he'll now be available until the middle of the season according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. The 32-year-old was set to operate as a top reserve option at interior offensive line to open the 2024 campaign.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Monday that Feliciano is considered week-to-week due to knee soreness, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. Feliciano did not play in Saturday's 17-13 preseason loss to the Titans. With both Feliciano and Spencer Burford (hand) on the shelf, Lombardi posits that Dominick Puni is in line to receive first-team reps at right guard.
The 49ers re-signed Feliciano on a one-year deal Friday, Peter Schrager of Fox Sports reports. The nine-year veteran will remain in San Francisco after agreeing to terms on another one-year deal Friday. Feliciano has also spent time with the Raiders, Bills and Giants across his NFL career, appearing in 113 total games and making 61 starts. Last season, the 32-year-old offensive lineman appeared in 16 games (seven starts) and played 559 total snaps for the 49ers, and he's expected to compete for the starting job at right guard once again this offseason.
