Left off injury report
Runyan (shoulder) wasn't on the Giants' injury report Wednesday ahead of Sunday's Week 1 contest against the Vikings. Runyan missed some time in August due to a shoulder injury, but it appears he's recovered just in time for the Giants' Week 1 affair. The Michigan product inked a three-year, $30 million deal with the Giants this past offseason, and he's expected to start at left guard in his first season in New York.
Nearing return to practice
Runyan (shoulder) is nearing a return to the practice field with the Giants, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. Runyan remained unavailable for Tuesday's practice session, but head coach Brian Daboll said that the offensive lineman is "close" to a return. Runyan signed with New York in the offseason and he's expected to operate as a starting offensive guard in 2024.
Joining Giants
The Giants plan to sign Runyan to a three-year, $30 million contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Runyan hasn't missed a game since he was drafted in the sixth round by Green Bay in 2020, so the Giants are expecting to get stability at one of their guard spots for the future. He likely fits best at right guard with the Giants.
