Jacobs was limited in practice Wednesday due to quadricep and calf injuries, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Jacobs operated with a cap on his practice reps last week due to a quad issue, but it didn't stop him from avoiding a designation ahead of this past Sunday's game at Chicago. Overall, he handled 22 touches in the 20-19 win and turned them into 134 yards from scrimmage and one rushing TD. Jacobs now has another health concern to deal with, though, so his listing on injury reports Thursday and Friday should be telling for his odds to continue operating as the Packers' No. 1 RB on Sunday against the 49ers.

Dealing with dual health concerns
Robust all-around production Sunday
Jacobs rushed 18 times for 76 yards and a touchdown and brought in four of five targets for 58 yards in the Packers' 20-19 win over the Bears on Sunday. Jacobs saw his usual workload on the ground, logging under 20 carries for the fifth time in the last six games. As customary, the versatile veteran was efficient with his opportunities while setting a new season high in receiving yards. Jacobs also scored his third rushing touchdown in the last three games on a seven-yard run just past the midway point of the third quarter, making it a productive all-around fantasy day for him in the narrow divisional win. The offseason addition will carry a four-game streak of at least 76 rushing yards into a Week 12 home showdown against the 49ers.
No injury designation
Jacobs (quadriceps) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Chicago, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. The Packers limited Jacobs' practice reps coming out of a bye week but never gave any indication he was in danger of missing Sunday's game. Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks again will be the reserve options, as rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd was diagnosed Friday with appendicitis after missing the previous seven games due to a high-ankle sprain. Regardless, Jacobs is locked in as Green Bay's lead runner, averaging 17.6 carries for 84.7 yards per game, with three rushing TDs and a receiving TD in nine appearances.
Another limited session
Jacobs (quadriceps) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Jacobs now has put together back-to-back capped sessions to begin Week 11 prep. The same can be said for rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd, who remains on injured reserve, due to ankle and hamstring issues. Friday's practice report may provide some clarity on the status of both players ahead of Sunday's game at Chicago.
Remains limited in practice
Jacobs (quadricep) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Bill Huber of SI.com reports. Coming out of a bye, Jacobs is tending to a quad injury that has resulted in his reps being capped in the Packers' first two Week 11 practices. Head coach Matt LaFleur hasn't yet indicated that the quad issue is anything that will threaten Jacobs' availability for Sunday's game against the Bears, but the running back may need to put in a full practice Friday to avoid taking an injury designation into the weekend.
Limited by quad injury
Jacobs (quadriceps) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. On the heels of a Week 10 bye, Jacobs is making an appearance on the Packers' first Week 11 practice report, as is rookie RB MarShawn Lloyd (ankle/hamstring), who also was limited after the team designated him for return from injured reserve Monday. Jacobs and Lloyd will have two more chances this week to return to full participation or else risk entering the weekend with designations ahead of Sunday's game at Chicago.
Used sparingly in second half
Jacobs rushed the ball 13 times for 95 yards in Sunday's 24-14 loss to the Lions. He added two receptions on three targets for 13 yards. Jacobs was the driving force behind the Packers' offense in the first two quarters, as he picked up 89 yards on 10 carries prior to halftime. He had long gains of 37 and 13 yards, the latter of which came on the team's opening scoring drive. However, he tallied only three carries in the second half as Green Bay attempted to come back from a 17-3 deficit, leading to more involvement for Chris Brooks and Emanuel Wilson. Jacobs remains the clear lead back in the offense, though Sunday's usage was concerning for him if the Packers fall behind in contests moving forward.
Available in Week 9
Jacobs (ankle) is active for Sunday's game versus the Lions, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports. Jacobs emerged from the Packers' Week 8 win in Jacksonville with an ankle injury that didn't allow him to practice until Thursday, but he ended Week 9 prep with back-to-back limited sessions before heading into the weekend listed as questionable. With his status confirmed for Sunday's outing, he should be good for his normal 20.1 touches per game.
Likely to suit up Sunday
Jacobs, who is officially questionable for Sunday's matchup against Detroit due to an ankle injury, is expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Jacobs hurt his ankle late in last Sunday's win over Jacksonville and logged a DNP/LP/LP progression in practice this week. He entered the weekend deemed questionable to take the field against Detroit but appears set to try to play through the injury. Jacobs will likely be getting the ball from Jordan Love, who is also expected to play Sunday, per Schefter, despite dealing with a groin injury.
