The Browns signed Robbins to the practice squad Tuesday. Robbins signed with the Browns in May as an undrafted free agent out of BYU. He was unable to make Cleveland's 53-man roster at the end of training camp, and after not being able to stick with a team through most of the year, he'll end the 2024 regular season on the Browns' practice squad. Robbins could be elevated to the Browns' active roster for the regular-season finale against the Ravens on Saturday if either or both of Jerome Ford (ankle) and Pierre Strong (concussion) are unable to play.

Back with Cleveland
The Browns signed Robbins to the practice squad Tuesday. Robbins signed with the Browns in May as an undrafted free agent out of BYU. He was unable to make Cleveland's 53-man roster at the end of training camp, and after not being able to stick with a team through most of the year, he'll end the 2024 regular season on the Browns' practice squad. Robbins could be elevated to the Browns' active roster for the regular-season finale against the Ravens on Saturday if either or both of Jerome Ford (ankle) and Pierre Strong (concussion) are unable to play.
Gets cut loose
Robbins was waived by the Browns on Monday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Robbins joined Cleveland as an undrafted free agent in May. The BYU product handled a heavy load in Saturday's preseason game against the Seahawks, seeing 48 snaps on offense, but he apparently was unable to do enough to secure a roster spot.
Paces backs in finale
Robbins gained a team-high 38 yards on eight carries and caught four of five targets for 25 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Seahawks. Robbins, a 2024 undrafted free agent, was expected to get a lot of work and led the Browns' backfield with 48 snaps. His longshot path to a roster spot received a boost when Cleveland watched D'Onta Foreman leave the game after injuring his ribs. That adds another injury to the backfield, which includes Nick Chubb (knee, PUP), Nyheim Hines (knee, PUP) and Pierre Strong (ribs). As of Sunday, the three healthy backs on the roster are Robbins, Jerome Ford and Jacob Saylors. It's unlikely the Browns, who entertain postseason goals, would head into the regular season like that.
Prepping for showcase Saturday
Robbins is expected to play at least a half and maybe more in Saturday's preseason finale against the Seahawks, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports. Robbins, who scored a touchdown in the Browns' first preseason game, should see ample opportunities to prove he's worthy of spot on the practice squad and further development. A bigger role Saturday was already in the cards for the undrafted free agent, but it was cemented Wednesday, when Pierre Strong sustained a rib contusion during practice. That leaves the team with few healthy backs entering the final preseason game; it's unclear how much either Jerome Ford for D'Onta Foreman will play.
