Thomas (foot) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Thomas sustained a foot injury in the Giants' Week 6 loss to the Bengals and already underwent season-ending surgery to address the issue, so his move to IR comes as no surprise. Expect Joshua Ezeudu to serve as the Giants' top left tackle with Thomas sidelined for the remainder of the year.

Shifts to IR
Thomas (foot) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Thomas sustained a foot injury in the Giants' Week 6 loss to the Bengals and already underwent season-ending surgery to address the issue, so his move to IR comes as no surprise. Expect Joshua Ezeudu to serve as the Giants' top left tackle with Thomas sidelined for the remainder of the year.
Officially done for season
Giants head coach Brian Daboll confirmed Wednesday that Thomas underwent season-ending surgery to address a foot injury sustained during the team's Week 6 loss to the Bengals. Thomas is dealing with a Lisfranc injury in his foot, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com notes that the standout left tackle should be healthy in time for OTAs in the spring, but in the immediate future, his loss is an enormous blow for quarterback Daniel Jones and New York's offense. Heading into Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports that Josh Ezeudu will work as the Giants' starting left tackle in practice, with Jermaine Eluemunor remaining at right tackle. Thomas, meanwhile, will likely be placed on injured reserve in the near future to open up a spot on the 53-man roster for a healthy player.
Could have season-ending surgery
Thomas is exploring season-ending surgery on his foot, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Thomas was nursing a foot injury during Sunday's loss to the Bengals. The injury appears severe enough that the 2020 first-round pick is seeing a foot specialist to explore his next options. If Thomas opts for surgery, Evan Neal or Joshua Ezeudu would be the top candidates to start at left tackle for the rest of the 2024 regular season.
Getting MRI on foot
Thomas said after Sunday's 17-7 loss to the Bengals that he will undergo an MRI on his foot Monday, Art Stapleton of USA Today reports. Thomas was bothered by a foot injury during Sunday's loss and will have further testing on the injury Monday. It's too early to tell whether the injury will impact the left tackle's availability for Week 7 against the Eagles.
Back on the field
Thomas exited Sunday's game after Mazi Smith landed on his knee. Thomas went to the medical tent following the play but is back on the field at left tackle.
Leaves with injury
Thomas got rolled up on by a Mazi Smith of the Cowboys, but he was able to walk off the field, according to Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports, although he did enter the medical tent on the sidelines. He is considered questionable to return.
Active Sunday
The left tackle practiced on a limited basis throughout the week after missing the team's last seven games. Thomas suffered the injury during New York's Week 1 loss to the Cowboys.
