The Bengals signed Grandy to their active roster Friday. Grandy made his first appearance of the season in Cincinnati's Week 10 loss to the Ravens, catching his lone target for no yards across 10 total snaps (four offensive and six on special teams). The Bengals now have five tight ends on their active roster following Grandy's signing Friday. He's expected to serve as a depth piece while also likely contributing on special teams in Cincinnati's Week 11 matchup against the Chargers.
Grandy reverted to the Bengals' practice squad Friday, per the NFL's transaction log. Grandy was elevated to the Bengals' active roster Thursday and played 10 total snaps (four offensive and six on special teams) in Cincinnati's Week 10 loss to the Ravens, catching his only target for no yards. He could be elevated to the active roster again if the team's tight end room faces injuries later this season.
Grandy is active for Thursday night's game against Baltimore. Grandy signed with the Bengals in May as an undrafted free agent, and he was signed to the practice squad after he was unable to make the 53-man roster after training camp. Grandy was elevated from the practice squad, and he'll make his NFL regular-season debut serving as the Bengals' No. 4 tight end behind Mike Gesicki, Drew Sample and Tanner Hudson.
The Bengals elevated Grandy from their practice squad for Thursday's game against the Ravens. Grandy has yet to see regular-season action up to this point, but he might get a chance to make his debut in Week 10. If he does play Thursday, it wouldn't be surprising if it was primarily on special teams.
Grandy signed with the Bengals' practice squad Wednesday. Grandy was waived Tuesday, but he'll now have the opportunity to continue developing in Cincinnati. The Illinois State product went undrafted in 2024, but showed skills as a pass catcher, recording 63 catches for 612 yards and three touchdowns in his final season there.
The Bengals waived Grandy on Tuesday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports. Grandy could be a candidate to continue his development in Cincinnati as a member of the practice squad, should he go unclaimed on waivers. The UDFA out of Illinois State showcased some upside as a pass-catching tight end during his final collegiate season, in which he put up a 63-612-3 stat line through the air.
