Activated from injured reserve
The Jets activated Clark (ankle) from injured reserve Saturday. Clark suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 6 against Buffalo and missed the minimum four games while on injured reserve. He's expected to be active for Sunday's date with the Colts. Prior to his injury, Clark had started all six games and played every defensive snap. It's unclear how the Jets will choose to deploy Ashtyn Davis, Tony Adams and Clark at safety moving forward.
No injury designation for Week 11
Clark (ankle) does not have an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Colts. Clark was placed on the Jets' injured reserve Oct. 15 after suffering a high-ankle sprain in Week 6 against the Bills. After sitting for the last four regular-season games, Clark returned to practice Wednesday and has been able to fully participate in practice all week. His practice participation this week, coupled with no injury designation, indicates that Clark should be activated off IR ahead of Sunday's game.
Has window opened
Clark (ankle) has been designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday. Clark has missed the minimum four games while tending to a high-ankle sprain and will return to the field Wednesday. He now has a 21-day window to practice with the team until he needs to be placed back on the active roster.
Goes on IR with high-ankle sprain
The Jets placed Clark on injured reserve Tuesday due to an ankle injury, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports. Clark suffered a high-ankle sprain during the first half of Monday's game against the Bills, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Clark will be forced to miss at least the next four regular-season games, meaning the earliest he could return is Week 11 against the Colts on Nov. 17. Ashtyn Davis stepped into the strong safety role after Clark left Monday's game, and the former finished the contest with a season-high nine tackles (six solo). Davis could assume the starting role in Clark's absence while Isaiah Oliver continues to serve as the Jets' nickel corner while Michael Carter (back) remains sidelined.
Ruled out
Clark (ankle) will not return to the Jets' Monday Night Football matchup with the Bills, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. The safety suffered the ankle injury earlier in the first half after making four tackles (one solo). Ashtyn Davis replaced him and got beat by Bills' wide receiver Mack Hollins for a touchdown.
Leaves game Monday
Clark (ankle) is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Bills. Clark made four tackles (one solo) before exiting. Entering Monday, the safety recorded 28 tackles, including 1.0 sacks, a pass defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery across the Jets' first five games. Ashtyn Davis is his backup.
Logs first sack of season Thursday
Clark finished Thursday's 24-3 win over New England with seven tackles (four solo), including one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Clark got to Jacoby Brissett for an eight-yard sack in the second quarter of Thursday's game, which was Clark's first sack since 2021 when he played for Baltimore. Clark also recovered a fumble he forced from Rhamondre Stevenson early in the fourth quarter, which led to a 28-yard field goal by Greg Zuerlein seven plays later. Clark was the second-leading tackler for the Jets behind Quincy Williams (eight), and the former has played every single defensive snap through the first three games of the regular season.
Participating in OTAs
Clark (knee) is participating fully in OTAs this week, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. The veteran safety tore his ACL last summer and missed the entire 2023 campaign after he was acquired from the Ravens last March. Clark re-signed with New York on a one-year deal this offseason and should have a chance to win a starting job in the Jets secondary.
Staying in New York
Clark (knee) re-signed with the Jets on a one-year deal Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Clark missed the entirety of the 2023 campaign after suffering an ACL team during the team's offseason training program last summer. The veteran safety was acquired via a trade with the Ravens last March and had been penciled in as the Jets starter at strong safety, before suffering the injury. He'll now get another opportunity in the Big Apple and should get another chance to be a starter in the secondary opposite Tony Adams.
