Ifedi suffered a hand injury during Saturday's preseason game against Minnesota and has been ruled out from returning, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. Ifedi signed with the Browns in April after spending part of last season on the team's practice squad. He had been on the outside looking in for a spot on the 53-man roster prior to getting hurt Saturday, and the injury could spell an end to his chances if it causes him to miss additional time.
The Browns signed Ifedi on Thursday. The veteran offensive lineman has appeared in 102 games (83 starts) across his seven-year NFL career, with his most recent in-game action coming back in 2022. Ifedi spent part of his 2023 campaign with the Browns' practice squad, and he's now expected to compete for a depth role on the team's offensive line as the offseason progresses.
